Part one will be the chalk board wall side. Look for hints of part 2 in the mirror!
I am loving the stark white against a sea of black.
Small touches of my favorite things like doilies, baskets and beads.
A painted metal piece displays my children's christening clothes. Vintage suitcases and an old metal fan give it a ~ time gone by feel.
Seen here a twisty wood sick for a curtain holder.
Previously my daughter had the room in pink and brown, I really didn't mind it, I even thought of leaving it or maybe just the pink, turns out I am very glad I went to the white.

Because our walls are paneling (in case you didn't know... I live in a mobile home) I filled in the crevices by simply using spakling or wall mud, let it dry 12 hours and lightly sanding before painting.
Next I taped off and painted chalk paint, you will see the small board, this is actually the cover for the fuse box. because it is already set off by itself I chose to highlight it by making it a stand alone chalk board.

And here is half of the room......next up... the free bed! the free chenille bed spread, paper dolls, milk glass and decoupage!
Part 2 is now posted...see it HERE

Shannon!
It looks so pretty.
I love all the white and then I don't!
I can't decide. Lately I've been thinking just paint it all white. But then I think... I love the color!
Your room looks beautiful...now I'm thinking --Paint it white.
I'm on a merry go round ...
and it keeps on turning! LOL

Shannon, it is so pretty. Love the pale suitcases and the fan especially. The chalkboard wall is full of whimsy and life is too short not to have that. hugs♥O
Fabulous job. Looking forward to seeing everything.
Love the chalk board paint on the fuse panel. I have a similar situation in our new beach home. Fuse panel is at the end of the hall. Such a good idea, I'm going to use it!
Sooo inspirational, my friend! The contrast is just stunning. I'm enjoying your details, such as the branch curtain rod. Blessings, Kim

God Bless.
I love redecorating rooms!!!
You did such a fabulous job...
I can't wait to see more of Part 2(not just the reflection from the mirror)!!!
I love it, and I especially liked the curtain rod that was a tree limb! My son moved out, and his room has an outdoor theme now. That would be so perfect!

What eye candy with this space now. Great job. Perfect look.
I love what you did with the room and thanks for the inspiration. I have a guest room that is in need of some special attention. I can tell from the mirror the the other side of the room is going to be lovely too.
I absolutely love it...of course, I love black and white...can't wait to see more!
Shannon, Your room is so pretty and I love the chalkboard wall. Thanks for joining my party this week. xo, Sherry
I LOVE that huge chalkboard.
I just old my sweet fella a while ago that I wanted the little wall in our dining room to be all chalkboard, and here it is.
Our wall is lightly textured though, so I think we will have to use Masonite or something, then frame it.
Now just to see if I am brave enough to do it. =)
